ABOUT US
Tharaka Green Gold capacity Enhancement Network(TGGCEN), is a registered indigenous Kenyan Community Based Organisation (CBO), working with self Help Groups particularly in Tharaka Nithi and Generally in Kenya and surrounding regions with the goal of improving their livelihood and food security, and general socioeconomic status, by utilizing locally available resources and potentials.
The CBO collaborates and partners with Self Help Groups, National and County Government departments, civil society development partners and individuals, to empower groups at their different organization growth with skills to help them utilize locally available resources and opportunities to solve regional problems and predicaments specific to different regions.
The skills are not limited to cultural talents (indigenous knowledge), but also cover crafts, modern farming, exposure to new economic activities, skills exchange within the group, and different other self-growth exercises.
VISION
Empower marginalized communities to enhance their potential and sustainably make use of local resources and opportunities for improved quality of life, embrace dignified live hoods, and raise their socioeconomic status, by exploiting locally available resources.
MISSION
Positively influence and change the mindsets of communities to be part of the solution to persistent food insecurity in arid and semi-arid regions, generational poverty, youth empowerment, and diversification of economic activities.
